(Formerly secret) report prepared by British Military Attache in Istanbul F.R. Maunsell for military use. A kind of traveller’s guide for army officers, containing a wealth of information about social and physical geography of the area. The book is part of a series, but unfortunately only this one seems to have been preserved. Maunsell, like other British military attaches in Constantinople before and after him was an experiences traveller and specialist on the Ottoman Empire
